The Hierarchical Structure of Marmind

The hierarchical navigation tree structure in Marmind forms the basis for navigation and roles and rights. The structure is used to navigate through the functional modules and to display and edit the corresponding content based on the context. The hierarchical structure is also used to map out Budget & Cost features as well as import matchings for e.g. mediaplans.

Object names can be adapted to customer-specific wordings. This article shows the default names and hierarchy levels.

The navigation tree is your central area to navigate the different object types in Marmind:

Navigation Tree (1).jpg

Navigation Tree

The organization sits at the top level of the Marmind hierarchy, also known as the “root node” or simply the “root.” This root is created during the initial setup of Marmind and serves as the starting point for all other sub-objects. Both administrators and super administrators must have full access rights to this level.

Virtual Root Node

Even if users don’t have access to the actual root level, they can still see a placeholder called the “virtual root node” in the navigation tree. This is available only in areas where the “Show sublevels” option is enabled. For other areas, this option is not available, and those sections will appear grayed out in the navigation bar.

The virtual root allows users to use cross-object views while still respecting their access rights. This means users will only see the objects they are authorized to view.

Example:
A user named "Demo User" has the guest role and access only to certain actions, but not to the campaigns above them. In the navigation tree, those higher-level objects (campaigns) are hidden. However, thanks to the virtual root, Demo User can still, for example, view all assets linked to the actions they have access to — in one consolidated list.

Workspace

The workspace represents the highest structure level in Marmind and enables the structured organization of campaigns, projects, actions and work packages.

The workspace object type is represented by the folder icon in the navigation tree.

Workspaces can be defined as specific departments or areas that you want to structure your team in. In our example, this is B-Unit: E-Bike.

When you click the three-dot menu next to your workspace, a new window will open, offering various options to help you set up and customize your newly created workspace.
